Hunter Responsibility Challenge
Participants will complete a written exam that may include: multiple choice, true or false, fill in the blank or essay questions. The exam will be based on material taken from the NRA Basic Hunter Education Handbook, The International Bow Hunter Education Manual, The Guide To Hunting and Trapping in Maryland, as well as the Basic Hunter Education Course that each participant completed.
Orienteering Challenge
Participant will be required to demonstrate knowledge using map and compass on a predetermind field course. Each participant will be asked to answer questions relating to land navigation, maps, map symbols and other related skills.
Wildlife Identification Challenge
Participants may be asked to identify both game and non-game animal species. The course is designed to simulate actual wildlife signs encountered while outdoors including tracks, skulls, hornd, feathers, fur and antlers.
Hunter Safety Trail
Te participants will wall through a pre-determined trail designed to simulate actual hunting conditions and situations. Participants may be tested on the do's and don'ts of firearm and archery safety, shoot/don't shoot situations target identification, safe gun handlind and landower relations.
